CLEANER POWER OR TO CLEAN POKETS

Power supplier or power generator supply power.
Consumer is not concerned whether power is from coal burning or gas buring power station. Pollution control norms have been in place for more than forty years.
Delhi Rajghat or IP station failed to meet norms and this was accepted by GOVERNMENT at centre and state level.
Coal supplied to power stations has very high content of ash and very low calorific value.
In fact such coal may be unfit for other purposes.
Such coal needed high quality precipator to trap ash so that it doesnot get released in atmosphere.
Unfortunately all authorities failed and now electricity consumers in Delhi will be asked to shell out more.
Already BSES etc are eying increase in tariff. Such moves need to be snubbed in the bud and electronic and press need to be responsive,organise discussions and live interviews etc.
We the social activists must galvanise and pool our efforts to formulate our response.

Electricity Tariff hike and delhites

Every year Private companies in Delhi expect increase in electricity rates without bothering about poor or middle class.

BSES has failed to check theft or to meter energy supplied to street light and govt office including police stations.

So,this burden is passed on to consumers. Why should i pay for the stolen electricity?

Secondly, compare per kwhr energy billed in any comparable city served by STATE ELECTRICITY BOARD.

Before privatisation, the Expenses in supplying electricity per kwh need to be compared with present charges.

Expenses are high because of over head high charges and purchase of equipment at exorbitant prices.

We have to firm up our replies and submit before 4th Feb 2010 to DERC.
